Our dairy operation is run by experienced dairy farmers Tom and Jessica Trzcinski.

Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

Tom

Barbed wire fences are a thing of the past. Today we watch our pastures carefully and set out new grazing paddocks for the cows every few days, based on the vegetative cycle and recuperation of the plants, the needs of the herd, and expectations for the weather.

Tom has been diary farming for nearly 20 years, including at Kimberton Hills for over 12 years. With a degree in biology from Penn State University, Tom started his career with Kimberton Hills Dairy, and after 4 years headed for New Zealand (the mother country for grass-fed dairy farming) to further develop his skills. Upon returning to the U.S., Tom started his own micro-dairy in Maine, and after five years returned as the Manager of Kimberton Hills Dairy.

As the Kimberton Hills Dairy is a part of Camphill Village Kimberton Hills, Tom also has a broader role teaching and mentoring new co-workers and Camphill villagers who comprise the farm crew.

Jessica

Jessica started with vegetable farming in 2013, and in December 2020, she became the second certified Journey Dairy Grazier in the state of Pennsylvania by graduating from the Dairy Grazing Apprenticeship Program under Pasa Sustainable Agriculture (fka Pennsylvania Association for Sustainable Agriculture). For more on Jessica’s farming story see here.

In addition to her roles helping to manage the pastures and the herd, Jessica recently launched an artisanal creamery for Kimberton Hills Dairy, using the Dairy’s raw milk to produce a variety of small-batch, artisanal cheeses.
